In loving memory and celebration, Gingie Noe, February 4, 1937 – November 3, 2011.  She was a graduate from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Art Degree with an emphasis in painting, and continued her education by taking additional graduate courses.   She worked in watercolor and acrylic at her home studio.  Her colorful paintings celebrate nature with floral still lifes, and garden and prairie scenes.  “Butterflies in Space” have appeared in numerous juried shows and were well received in a solo exhibition at the former DeKalb Gallery.

Noe’s “Prairie Series” were part of a two-woman show, “Prairie Roots”, at the Ellwood House Museum in DeKalb; and the “Butterflies in Space” Series were part of a two-woman show, “Where They Fly”, at Kishwaukee College.  Her works have appeared in regional shows, including Geneva, Aurora, Milwaukee, Rockford, Elgin and Chicago.  They are in private collections in ten states.   One painting in the “Butterflies in Space” Series appeared in three juried shows in 2006, at the Franciscan Art Exhibition in Chicago, Art Infusion in Elgin, and “Symbolism, Myth and Ritual” at Oakton Community College.  Gingie received an Award of Distinction for the painting “Field of Lace” in the Watercolor 2009 juried show at Norris Gallery, St. Charles, Illinois.

Keeping true to her high standard of quality, Gingie painted mostly on 140 pound cold pressed, natural white Arches, 100% rag.
