ORPHAN ART GALLERY

The purpose of The Orphan Art Gallery is the opportunity for a collector to obtain fine art from their favorite artists that may be difficult to do so otherwise.  The fine art shown in this gallery is by local and regional artists, and is in excellent condition.

Cost or value of the fine art is based on the art alone because framing is based upon the preference of the previous owner.   Names of previous owners and buyers remain confidential.

There comes a point in time when owners of fine art must sell their collections for various reasons.  Most times the owners are downsizing their personal possessions and moving into smaller homes, and death.  Rather than placing their collections in storage, many collectors and heirs of the collectors realize that to give fine art life, it must be seen and enjoyed by people.  Family members/heirs will inherit their favorite pieces, and many pieces of collections are often donated to colleges and universities.

Keep in mind that fine art found in garage sales and resale shops diminishes the value of the art.   Donations to not for profit organizations are typically valued for what they were purchased or at fair market value.  Value of fine art is determined by a qualified appraiser.   Best to seek advisement through your accountant.

Acquisitions of fine art through the Orphan Art Gallery are made by contacting Daniel Grych at THE ART BOX, 308 East Lincoln Highway, De Kalb, Illinois 60115.  Hours:  11 am through 6 pm, closed Sunday and Wednesday.  Phone: 815-758-0313.  Email:  dan@dekalbgallery.com.
