DeKalb Gallery, a fine art gallery created by Dan Grych in July 2000 to promote artists, to sell original art on a consignment basis, and to provide a fine art venue for the community. The gallery was situated on the main floor in the oldest building in the historic business district of DeKalb, the northwest corner of Second Street and Lincoln Highway (Route 38). The gallery not only exhibited the work of over sixty local artists and featured group and solo exhibitions, but also provided museum quality picture framing to protect precious items from time and sun fade, digital documentation d’ art, and individual internet galleries for artists. The gallery closed its doors on September 6, 2008. The internet gallery, dekalbgallery.com, remains to further promote Northern Illinois artists. Dan and his wife, Nancy, sojourned to Arizona for professional, health and personal art endeavors.
